Study visit of a group of American students from Syracuse University in Krasnogruda and Sejny

On September 11-13 a group, consisting of eight students of the University of Syracuse and two mentors: Prof. DSW dr.hab. Hana Cervinkova and Juliet Golden (graduate of the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, an independent researcher and writer) visited Krasnogruda and Sejny where they got familiar with the work of the Border through meetings and participation in presentations and workshops.

The studdy visit to Krasnogruda and Sejny is a part of the wider cyclic program entitled "Culture and reconciliation policy" organized by Hane Cervinkova and Juliet Golden in behalf of the International Institute for the Study of Culture and Education University of Lower Silesia in Wroclaw

A day at with the Borderlands Foundation

10:00 – 11:30 – presentation of  Artistic workshop – Wiesław Szumiński

Educational work with children and youth.

The leading theme of the workshop is Memory. Memory of people, places, events. Using different artistic techniques and materials, the work on memory gets various forms of expression.

12:00 – 13:30 – presentation of Nature workshop – Ksenija Konopek

Workshop with primary school children on rich natural heritage of the region. Work combines the theoretical knowledge and practical, creative work.

15.30 – 17.00 - meeting with Bożena Szroeder

educational work with children – animated films as a tool for learning history of the town.

17.30 – 19.30 -presentation of the Borderland House, The White Synagogue, and old Jeshiwa, Michał Moniuszko

- presentation of Musical workshop connected with Memory of the Place – Michał Moniuszko

Long-term educational process with youth on the discovering and fostering the multicultural heritage of the place, using language of music.
