SEJNY THEATRE

The Sejny Theatre is an extension of the Borderland Center of Arts, Cultures, and Nations and Borderland Foundation in Sejny. They started with minor theatrical-musical performances as pretexts for meeting people on holiday trips in the borderland regions - Polish-Lithuanian, Polish-Belarusian, and Polish-Ukrainian. They draw upon cultural legacy and the past, which are their inspiration in their artistic efforts (theatrical performances, music, photographic exhibitions, films).

The members of the first group (Aneta Stabińska, Magdalena Urynowicz, Irena Namiotkiewicz, Robert Tomkiewicz, Mariusz Tomkiewicz, Adam Pogorzelski, Michał Moniuszko, Radosław Polakowski, Artur Kisielewski) were cultural and philology students at the Warsaw University.

The new group (Arkadiusz Urbański, Jacek Janiec, Weronika Czyżewska, Piotr Janiec, Kacper Szroeder, Piotr Wołukanis, Tomasz Stawiecki, Bartosz Nazaruk, Stanisław Czyżewski) consisted of secondary school students in Sejny, as well as university students (in Białystok).

The group, alike the first one, worked in Sejny under the guidance of Małgorzata Sporek-Czyżewska and Wojciech Szroeder.
