Julia Baluda comes from Kherson where she worked as a puppeteer.
In 2021 she became a member of the National Association of Ukrainian Artists. She was active in the artistic life of her city where she worked for the National Museum of Art.
Her works have been presented in Ukraine and abroad (the USA, Germany, Japan, the UK, the Czech Republic, Norway and Italy).
She received several prestigious grants to develop her work and her artistic ideas.
Her art is abstract. The textile materials that she uses inspire her because of their naturalness. Thus inspired she composes works in the collage technique.
She tries to create art which is nature-friendly. Therefore her preferable matter is the remains of textile and paper such as old tablecloths, embroidery, vintage postcards, newspapers, magazines and books.
Julia is staying in Krasnogruda between 15 June and 14 July.
