After a three-year cycle of the Sejny Artistic Academy, the Borderland Foundation invites participants to join the programme “At the Common Table.” The programme will be offered to 50 participants.
“At the Common Table” is an educational and artistic project for seniors, in which the table becomes a welcoming space for encounter, memory, and above all, creative presence. It is a place of everyday rituals, festive celebrations, family memories, and shared feasting—a space that for generations has brought together the inhabitants of the borderland: today Polish, Lithuanian, and Old Believer communities, and in the past also Jewish ones.
In Sejny, a town with a rich multicultural history, seniors will explore the meaning of the table in tradition, culture, art, and the aesthetics of everyday life. They will take part in artistic and culinary workshops, meetings with artists, ethnographers, and experts in culinary traditions, as well as trips to heritage sites and community spaces.
