Remembering Miłosz

A photograph of Czesław Miłosz

The Borderland always remembers Czeslaw Milosz, his birthday and each anniversary of his death. This year, as always, a number of events recalled Milosz, his life and work.

On Monday, August 16 there was a holy mass celebrated in the Żegary parochial Catholic church at 4 pm.

At 5 pm we met in the Song on Porcelain cafe to have a discussion about the book Czesław Miłosz and the 21st Century. This book is the beginning of the series devoted to his works and heritage.
The participants of the discussion were Joanna Zach, who is also in charge of Miłosz Studies at Jagiellonian University, Krzysztof Czyżewski and Mindaugas Kvietkaus. Each of the participants contributed to the content of Czesław Miłosz and the 21st Century.

Finally, at 7 pm there was an open air reading of Miłosz’s poetry in the Invisible Bridge space in the park of the Krasnogruda manor.
