Larisa Andriievska – a residency in Krasnogruda

The Borderland continues to invite writers from Ukrainie to take part in the residency programme. Larisa Andriievska is one of the new residents.

Larisa is an editor, translator, the curator of book series and the author of several anthologies. She is also in charge of project management and artistic translations. She studies Polish theatre of absurd, contemporary drama, Jewish elements in Polish literature and the culture of the borderland.

Larisa Andriievska is a member of the National Association of Theatre Artists and the International Association of Translators.

So far she has translated Witold Gombrowicz, Zbigniew Herbert, Stanisław Lem, Tadeusz Różewicz and Witkacy.

She was a scholar and resident of several programmes in Poland, Latvia, Hungary, Catalonia, Sweden and Switzerland.

During her stay in Krasnogruda she will be working on translating nine key- plays by Sławomir Mrożek, a novel by Mikołaj Łoziński and study the work of Józef Albin Herbaczewski – a nearly forgotten writer of the Polish-Lithuanian borderland.

Her residency will last from 10 March till 10 April 2024.
