Cafe Europa at the Borderland

The Borderland is proud to announce a three-day long event, "Cafe Europa at the Borderland". The event will include talks and readings.

The event will last from 17 to 19 November. On the first day (17 November), at 12.00 Krzysztof Czyżewski will give an opening talk, "On Borderlands". Later, there will be two discussions: "Uncertainty of Place" at 14.00 (Krzysztof Hoffman and David Woo) and "The Matter of Reciprocity" at 16.30 (Salah Badis, Terry Tempest Williams and Victoria Amelina). Each of the events will take place in Krasnogruda.
On Friday at 10.00 the talk will be given by Terry Tempest Williams after which there will be two discussions again: at 11.30 "Home Unmade and Made" (Shenaz Patel and Kate Tsurkan) and at 14.00 "The weight of language" (Yuriy Serebriansky and Lubya Yakimchuk). Each of these events will take place in Krasnogruda. In the afternoon at 17.00 there will be a public reading and talk in Sejny.

On Saturday at 10.00 Yaroslav Hrytsak will talk about Ukraine (''Ukraine-in-process: 2004-2014-2024"). At 11.30 there will be a discussion "Identity/Return" (Roman Malynovsky, ko ko thett, Irena Karp).
The Borderland Foundation can host the guests from Algeria, Findland, Kazakhstan, Mauritius, Poland, Ukraine and the United States thanks to the support of the International Writing Programme of the University of Iowa.
