Café Europa in the world

The Borderland is happy to inform you about the cooperation between Café Europa and the Asian Literary Festival.

The cooperation with ALF has enabled Café Europa to be open to people from other parts of the world. As it has been stated in an article published on the ALF website:

"The partnership between Café Europa and ALF's global network has done something quietly remarkable. It has taken a Central European literary tradition — shaped by the philosophy of Krzysztof Czyżewski and the Borderland Foundation's vision of culture as encounter rather than performance — and carried it to the rest of the world. Through ALF's expanding platform, Café Europa has appeared in Bhubaneswar, in Gampaha, and most recently in Nairobi, where ALF opened its inaugural African edition in May 2026. What was once a flying European programme has become something genuinely planetary."
