Krzysztof Czyżewski at the ceremony of receiving the Leonidas Donskis prize

The Borderland is honoured to announce that Krzysztof Czyżewski has been awarded with the prestigious Leonidas Donskis prize.

The prize was given to Krzysztof Czyżewski on 10 March 2024 in the Main Hall of Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas.

Krzysztof Czyżewski was awarded for several reasons which include his tireless efforts showing that the meaning of life is born where we live and work. His attitude also shows that to live on the outskirts and borderland is the challenge that leads to meaningfulness and creativity. What was also underlined that bold ideas have always been the most valuable resource and that Krzysztof, as a practitioner of such ideas has always shown and explained that putting them in life demands patience and effort.

The life and work of Krzysztof Czyżewski teaches us that the minicentre of the world is where we act meaningfully and with open hearts.
