A Handbook of Dialogue. Trust and Identity

The Handbook of Dialogue, published by the House of Eastern Poland in Brussels in cooperation with the Borderland Foundation and the Center "Borderland - of arts, cultures, nations" in Sejny. This publication is an outcome of long-term project, international program - New Agora whose goal is creating new reflection and practice of intercultural dialogue.

It is a 'mobile academy' – a meeting consisted of a series of debates and artistic events organized each time in a different city in the world. The event brings together an international group of both 'people of reflection' (intellectuals, scholars, writers) and 'practitioners' (NGO activists, community leaders, artists, cultural animators), as well as journalists and students, both from the EU and non-EU countries.  New Agora Symposium intent to inspire a debate about today's multicultural societies in Europe and about the ways of putting the ideas of intercultural dialogue into practice; to disseminate the awareness of the problems and challenges of multiculturalism; to present and promote good practices – example of interesting and successful projects from the sphere of education and culture, implemented in multicultural communities. It is always a public debate, in which a broad audience takes part.

The culmination of activities under the New Agora programs is the "Handbook of Dialogue" published in three languages - English, Polish and Russian. This book invites readers to the debate on today's multicultural societies in Europe and in its neighborhood and on how to introduce the idea of intercultural dialogue into life. The book is not so much theorizing as it is presenting and promoting good practices - on the example of interesting and successful projects in the field of education and culture in multicultural, multilingual, multi-ethnic and multi-faith communities.
